Garlic-Spinach-Parmesan Turkey Burgers

Ingredients:

1lb lean ground turkey
4 handfuls of baby spinach
.5 cup of grated parmesan (or substitute with another cheese, such as mozzarella or feta)
4 cloves of garlic
Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper to Taste

Directions:

In a large skillet pour 2 tablespoons of olive oil and then add the garlic. Add a little bit of salt to bring out the flavor of the olive oil. After the aroma of the garlic starts to come out, add the baby spinach and allow to wilt. You may have to add a little more olive oil - and add salt and pepper to taste. Once wilted, take the spinach and let cool.

After the spinach and garlic have cooled, add to the raw ground turkey. Also add the parmesan. I use my hands to really get all to mix into the turkey. Once you are satisfied with how much the turkey, spinach and parmesan have integrated, take about a half cup of the ground turkey in your hands and roll into a ball - then flatten to create a patty. You may make the patty's larger or smaller depending on how large you want your burgers.

Put into the fridge for 20 - 30 minutes. This allows the patty's to harden a little but and they won't fall apart on the grill as easily. (Ground turkey tends to not hold together as well as hamburger meat).

Heat up your grill and set at medium heat - cook on one side until it appears done and then flip to the other side. This may take 10 - 12 minutes, but it depends on your grill and the heat that you have set it at. Cut into one of the burgers to double check that it is done.

Bon appetite! :)
